The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, referred to as PolyU, is a public comprehensive research university located in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China and a famous institution of higher learning in Asia. The history of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University can be traced back to the Hong Kong Government Advanced Industrial College established in 1937. It was officially renamed the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1994 and was awarded a self-accreditation qualification by the government.
