Study in Macau

Educational connection

· Universities in Macau all adopt the method of independent enrollment, allowing candidates admitted by Macau universities to be repeatedly admitted to other universities in the Mainland. Applying to Macau universities will not affect candidates' application to mainland universities.

If a candidate is admitted by both Macau universities and mainland universities, the candidate can decide whether to study in Macau universities or domestic universities.

Academic Level

Divided into three stages: undergraduate, master, and doctoral

Undergraduate: 1) Apply directly with college entrance examination scores, without occupying college entrance examination volunteer quotas

2) From 2021, mainland students can also apply with international test scores such as Sat, Alevel, IB, etc.

Master and doctoral: Currently, the institutions offering master and doctoral programs in Macau include: University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau Polytechnic Institute, City University of Macau, Macau Institute for Tourism, and University of Saint Joseph. There are humanities and social sciences, business, tourism and hotel management, education, law, science, engineering and other disciplines. The master's degree is 2 years and the doctoral degree is 3 years.

Application conditions

Undergraduate:

[University of Macau] College entrance examination line or above; English score must be 110 or above
[Macau University of Science and Technology] College entrance examination line or above, no requirement for English; (preparatory class minimum requirement is above second-tier line)
[Macau Polytechnic Institute] College entrance examination line or above, no requirement for English
[City University of Macau] College entrance examination line or above (key undergraduate class), college entrance examination line or above (ordinary undergraduate class)
(preparatory class minimum requirement is around second-tier line)
[Macau Institute of Tourism] College entrance examination line or above, English score is preferably above 120
【Macau Kiang Wu Nursing College】Above the second-tier college entrance examination score, English score above 110

Master:

Applicants must obtain a bachelor's degree recognized by a college in Macau, China. If previous undergraduate graduates apply for other master's programs except MBA at City University of Macau, Macau Polytechnic Institute, and Macau Institute of Tourism, they need to refer to the results of the 2022 Mainland National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (those with a total score of the first zone of the national postgraduate entrance examination or above will be given priority)

PhD:

Applicants must obtain a master's degree or hold a bachelor's degree with excellent grades and strong scientific research capabilities
