There are four main ways to study for an undergraduate degree in Singapore:
The National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University of Singapore usually recruit students from October of the previous year to February of the current year. IELTS scores are required for registration. Written tests and interviews are usually conducted in March, and admission is ultimately based on college entrance examination scores.
Singapore Management University: 20 points above the first-tier line of the college entrance examination, 120 points in English, or SAT scores of 1900 or above. Registration time is after the college entrance examination.
Suitable for domestic high school graduates, but the Singapore Education Alliance recommends that students who are at least above the second-tier line in high school and college entrance examination apply for the exam. After one year of training and examination in Singapore, they can apply with at least 3 course scores.
The backgrounds of students who choose private universities in Singapore span a wide range, and they usually use private university diplomas as a springboard to pursue higher education. Private universities have flexible teaching systems. Excellent students can complete undergraduate courses in the shortest time, get a degree, and enter the master's stage earlier than their peers. Private universities generally do not require students' college entrance examination scores. They usually have an English test for admission. The English course is flexible. Domestic students who do not have IELTS scores can be admitted through English tests, saving time to the greatest extent.
Above the second-tier college entrance examination, there are requirements for English. The school has admissions examinations and interviews. The enrollment subjects are mostly science and engineering.
Advantages: government subsidies, low fees, majors are closely integrated with social needs, and jobs will be reserved by Singapore employers before graduation. Suitable for students who are determined to develop in Singapore.
In general, it is more difficult to apply for undergraduate studies in public universities in Singapore, while the admission requirements for undergraduate studies in private universities are relatively low, and the teaching level is not bad. Students can consider choosing private universities in Singapore.
