Comparison with the British School System

British secondary school curriculum

There are many entry points, suitable for students with different ideals, backgrounds and abilities. If you want to study abroad at any time, the UK has a good choice, for example:

British secondary school curriculum: 2-year graduation course, suitable for those over 16 years old: A level, IB, BTEC.

  • IB is suitable for students with high English proficiency, time management, comprehensive ability and strong curiosity, because the curriculum has many compulsory subjects, covers a wide range of topics, and has many papers. It also requires students to connect what they have learned with society through voluntary work. However, British universities have high and broad requirements for IB courses, and there is no Advanced Credit or admission preference.

  • A level: Flexible subject selection, students can choose subjects according to their strengths. There are many choices of schools and subjects in the UK. Students with high English proficiency, time management, comprehensive ability and strong curiosity can take EPQ, which is equivalent to the paper part of IB. EPQ is half of A level.

  • BTEC: Suitable for students who want to study practical subjects. The scores are composed of projects and homework. No exams are required. The scores are recognized by most British universities and are on par with A levels.
